Inpatient Oncology

Sault Area Hospital has an oncology in-patient unit for oncology patients and patients with oncology related concerns. We offer team-focused care for all of our in-patients. Members of our team include nurses, oncologists, social workers and supportive care counselors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, Community Care Access Centre team members, discharge planners, radiation therapists, diagnostic imaging staff, housekeeping staff, volunteers and porters. You will be assigned a primary nurse dedicated to your ongoing assessment and care, and will receive excellent care 24 hours a day.

Flower and Fruit Basket Restrictions
Many oncology patients have specific needs directly related to their low immune systems. Because of this, flowers, plants and fruit baskets are not allowed on the Oncology Unit. We appreciate your cooperation. You are welcome to receive any artificial or silk flower arrangements to brighten your stay.
