Medical Units

These units focus on diagnosing and caring for patients with a wide range of conditions including respiratory, gastroenterology (digestive system) and endocrinology (internal glands, ie, pancreas).

The three units are staffed with Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Nurses, and Personal Support Workers. They are supported by a multidisciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, Pharmacists, Dietitians, Physicians, Nurse Educators, Case Managers, Speech Therapists, Spiritual Support, Volunteers, Unit Clerks, Respiratory Therapists.

The service promotes an interdisciplinary learning environment, often teaching a variety of students from medical residency, nursing, respiratory, physiotherapy and ambulance programs. These students are enrolled from a variety of universities and colleges throughout the community, region and province.
